What to bring

Camp is camp! It's a great place to bring your old sneakers, last year's (or decade's) bathing suit, etc. A laundry facility is available on site. Days generally warm up quickly around 10:00 am; nights can be cool.

Check in time is after 2:00 pm. Please visit the camp office prior to unloading your car to confirm your tent/cabin asssignment.

 Sleeping bag/warm bedding for single bed  Comfortable walking shoes
 Pillow  Water shoes (for beach and showers)
 Warm Sleepwear  Two towels (bathing and swimming)
 Slip-on shoes for nightly bathroom trips  Flashlight
 Swimsuit  Reading lamp, if your tent/cabin has electricity
 Shorts  Toiletries (in bag/basket for carrying to restroom)
 T-shirts  Beach chairs
 Long pants  Inflatable water toys
 Light jacket  Camera
 Hats (one for sun, one for sleeping)  Personal medications
 Heavier jacket or sweatshirt  Sunscreen and insect repellent

 Fans  Sheet or blanket to cover mattress
 Clothesline & clothespins  Throw rug(s) for the floor next to your bed
 Sun umbrella  A good book!
 Refillable water bottle  Battery-operated book light
  • Please do not bring pets, firearms, candles or kerosene lamps. There is a boarding facility nearby for dogs if necessary.

  • Please limit your consumption of alcohol to your tent or cabin only, and please smoke in designated smoking areas only.

  • If you require special foods, we’re glad to provide you with space in our dietary kitchen.

   
   

Directions

Oakland Feather River Camp is located in the Plumas National Forest near Quincy California. The camp, nestled long Spanish Creek, amid towering Ponderosa Pines is about a 4½ hour drive from the Bay Area.

Driving from Oakland

There are two ways (unless you want to take back roads) to get to Camp.

Route #1 – Through Truckee

  1. Take Interstate 80 East to Sacramento and continue on 80 to Truckee. (A)
  2. Take the exit for State Route 89 North to Quincy. (You’ll be on 89 for approximately an hour.) (B)
  3. Just outside Quincy, there will be a sign to the right for Oakland Camp. Make a right and follow the signs. (C)

 

 

 

 

 
Route #2 – Through Marysville/Yuba City

  1. Take Interstate 80 East to Sacramento . (A)
  2. In Sacramento , take Sacramento Business Loop/80-South Lake Tahoe/50 and follow signs to Interstate 5 towards Redding and Los Angeles .
  3. Take 5 North.
  4. Take the Yuba City-Marysville/Highway 99 exit. Stay on 99/70 through Marysville and Oroville towards Quincy . (B)
  5. Continue on 70 through the canyon to Quincy. (C)
  6. Approximately five miles before Quincy , watch for a sign that reads Chandler Road/Oakland Camp. Turn left and continue for about four miles to Oakland Feather River Camp.
